Sponsored legislation to insure a “level playing field” between non-profit and for-profit organizations competing for a concession contract

Identified and shared concessionaire best practices with the National Parks Hospitality Association

Sponsored legislation that allows the State to enter negotiated contracts for pilot concessions

Established an affiliation with the California League of Cooperating Associations and the California State Park Ranger Association

Promoted legislation that added conditions which allow the State Parks Director to renegotiate a concession contract

Encouraged State Parks to develop a rent reduction policy to help mitigate negative impacts of COVID-19 on concession operators
